Full STEAM Ahead!
We have made it through the first marking period. I will have to say that I was surprised by how fast most of my students adapted to fourth grade. It is always a rough transition to the blue hall aka the big kids' wing. We will started to talk about multiplication and division in Math. They are doing great with the concepts. In ELA, we will continue to read "Who is Neil Armstrong?" and working on adjectives. Neil Armstrong was a great man and I can't wait to share his accomplishments with you. Science, we shall explorer the final frontier called space. I wonder what we will possibly discover. In Social Studies, we talking about the European Explorers and the challenges they faced in the "new"world.

Almost done...
We are almost done with the first marking period. I can't believe it's almost time for report cards. We have been working hard in the Lego Robotics Lab. STEAM Discovery Night was a success. Thank you for all of you that were able to attend and a special thank you to Nicholas D. for teaching the participants about the lego robotics. You did a fantastic job. We were so proud of you. I hope you were able to view the pictures on Class Dojo:). For this week, we will be finishing up reading Shiloh. The class is ready to move on from Native Americans, ecosystems, and place value. Native American test will be on Thursday, September 24th. Ecosystems test will be on Friday, September 25th. Place Value test will be on Tuesday, September 29th. We have only tapped the surface of what content we will discover this year. My STEAM Elite students... I hope you have a great night's sleep.

Adaptations
I can't wait to get back to school so we can practice using mental math. You never know when we will need to calculate the price of sneakers, a cute outfit and maybe a movie. All with using the power of our minds. The class enjoys reading Shiloh. We almost cried at the end of Chapter 10. They just want Shiloh to find a happy home. We are cruising along in the land of food chains and food webs. We will focus on how animals are able to protect themselves. I love this part of the Ecosystem lesson:) In Social Studies, we are continuing to learn about how the different Native Americans adapted to their environment.

Reflection
Good Evening STEAM Parents,
So far so good with getting use to the fourth grade. The students have already started to change into independent fourth graders. We are mastering place value. Now we want a dog named Shiloh and maybe visit West Virginia:) The class is engrossed in the ecosystems. We are digging deeper on how Native Americans lived in the past. This is a wonderful group of students. I see a fun filled adventure in our future.

Young Minds Under Construction
Good Day My STEAM members,
Welcome to the STEAM Academy. I am your "site manager" Ms. Mondesir. I am so happy to embark on this new journey with you all. We are going to work on many different activities that will incorporate all subjects. It's time to put on your hard hat and get ready for a new adventure. The journey starts on Tuesday. See you there.

Independence Time! Let's use Force & Motion...
Good Day historians and scientists,
The Queen of England says sorry about how events have turned for the worst. But you, colonists, need to be taught a lesson. I hope you are ready to dissect the Revolutionary War. For my scientists, we shall figure out how forces and motions really works. What are simple machines and how are they incorporated in our daily lives?

Forming a New Nation and Energy
Good Day colonists and scientists,
I know that we having a good time forming a new nation. But I feel that things are about to get cloudy in a few days. We just were apart of the French and Indian War. Now I heard a rumor that they want us to pay. But how are we going to afford that? For Science, we are going to finish up light and are about to move on to sound. I can't wait to see your faces when we come back to school.

Welcome Back
Good Day Explorers,
I missed you so much. With Social Studies, we are having some trouble in the America. I hear talk of war but who knows what the future may bring. In Science, we shall explore light and sound. This shall be fun to learn about light and sound.
